Where to Stay in London

For a London first timer, it becomes important to select a good locality to stay in. this allows one access to the best sights to see, good places to eat and nice people to meet. Getting to know a new city is all about getting involved with the culture. You could prefer a place more central to London because it safes you on travel, but do not miss out on that aspect of London either. Wherever you choose to stay, be sure to try the bus, trains and tubes to get into the heart of London and allow it to get into your heart all the same.

One of the best locations in London would have to be Bloomsbury. It is near central London and a short hike or a bus journey would be sufficient to get you into the city. A number of places to visit would be only a walk away and being near central London, connects it to the rest of the city well using public transport. Green belts and quiet patches also allow the residence some peace. It gives them a little breathing space away from the city’s commotion and lets one appreciate the natural beauty of London.

If you are a shopper or a foodie, Marylebone might be the place for you. Fancy restaurants and cafes tend to fall only minutes away and one can enjoy outings with friends and families at the mall or shopping streets, specially the high street because it is just a short bus ride away. The neighborhood being slightly packed and busy gives the feel of a village. A sense of warmth, comforting love becomes the essence of the area. The largest park in central London, yes I am referring to Hyde Park, is also not far from Marylebone so one might find quiet refuge there at the end of a long day.

South Kensington could also be a place to stay for those who like to visit parks more often. Hyde Park, Kensington garden and Holland park, fall into walking distances from the neighborhood and the Science and Natural History Museum also is not too far away. It is walking distance from Gloucester Road tube which further connects it to the rest of the city and allows easy and cheap transport everywhere around the area. The high street falls in Kensington as well and the tube connects to the Central, District as well as the Piccadilly line making commute much easier.

One last suggestion for London would be Covent Garden Area. This is an area for someone who gets inspired and fascinated by music, art, dance and culture. The building facade in the area is a gentle mix of traditional as well as modern, and compliments the street performers entertain huge crowds everywhere. These streets give one a sense of security because the colors, the life and the zest seen in people may be new but it feels familiar in an uncanny way. The theatres are the main attraction of the street and manage to win hearts of all those who visit.

So don’t wait, pack your bags and set off to see London from the point of view of the locals staying there.
